There's a version of this trip where you never leave the sandbar.
There's another version where you follow the trails deep into the hardwoods, into the parts of the property most guests never see — and come back with mud on your boots and a story about the deer you startled at the cypress grove.
Both are the right way to visit Magee's Creek Retreat.
This is for the second version.
We didn't build trails here because a retreat is supposed to have them.
The trails were long before we discovered this place. Prior owners built them pushing through brush, following deer paths, finding places to reach the creek. The acreage keeps unfolding the farther you explore.
An ATV is just a faster way to keep discovering it.
The trail narrows before you expect it to. Canopy closes overhead, dust settles into the ruts from the last guest who came this way, and somewhere past the second bend the creek shows up again — you didn't plan the reunion, the trail did. This is the side of the property most people never see from a porch.
Bring your own ATV or rent ours, either is allowed.
Rates
Stay Rate: $350 per ATV for your entire stay
Single Day: $250 (8 hours)
An additional $50 per ATV for equipment protection through our insurance partner— so a scrape or mechanical mishap on the trail doesn't turn into an out-of-pocket repair bill.
The longer you stay, the more ground and value you get for it.
Before You Ride
A few things that apply to every guest, every stay:
- Renters must be 18+. Minors may never operate a rented ATV, but may operate an ATV the guest family personally owns, with parental consent.
- Every guest on the property must sign a liability waiver — whether or not you plan to ride. This is a condition of stay, not just of rental.
- Waivers can be completed in advance or on arrival — we'll send the link once your stay is confirmed.
- Before your first ride, you'll watch a short safety video through our guest app.
- Helmets are required for every rider - we do not supply helmets.
